Pricing

v0 pricing: plans, credits, and what a message really costs

Every v0 message is billed by the tokens it uses, and most of them are context you didn't type. The plans, the rates, and how to keep a month's credits from vanishing.

v0 has a free plan with 7 messages a day; Plus at $30 a user a month, with $30 of credits each plus $2 of free credits a day; Business at $100 a user, the same credits with your data kept out of training by default; and custom Enterprise plans. The $20 Premium plan is closed to new users. Every message is charged by tokens at the rate of the v0 model you pick, from v0 Mini at $0.20 per million input tokens to v0 Max Fast at $10, and the input includes your chat history and project files, so a short prompt can still use a lot. Hosting on Vercel is billed separately.

How much does v0 cost?

From v0's pricing page and docs (Vercel, docs):

  • Free, $0: 7 messages a day, deploys to Vercel, Design Mode and GitHub sync. New users get $5 of credits once.
  • Premium, $20 a month: "being sunsetted and is no longer available to new users."
  • Plus, $30 a user a month: $30 of credits per user each month plus "$2 of free daily credits on login," all models, shared projects and a shared credit pool, and billing on vercel.com.
  • Business, $100 a user a month: everything in Plus, with "training opt-out by default."
  • Enterprise, custom: SAML single sign-on, role-based access with free viewer seats, priority access and service agreements.

Prices are in US dollars, plus tax, billed monthly. v0 offers no purchasing-power discounts.

How do v0 credits work?

Each message is charged by the tokens it uses, at the rate of the model you choose (Vercel):

  • v0 Mini: $0.20 per million input tokens, $1.20 output.
  • v0 Pro: $2 input, $10 output.
  • v0 Max: $5 input, $25 output.
  • v0 Max Fast: $10 input, $50 output, for 2.5 times faster output.

Cached input costs a tenth of the normal rate. Monthly and daily credits are used first, then the team's shared pool. When credits run out, generation pauses until you buy more or the next allowance arrives.

Why do v0 messages use so many tokens?

Because the input isn't just your prompt: v0 sends the chat history, your project's source files and Vercel context with each message, so even "make the button blue" can carry thousands of tokens. v0's own FAQ answers this question. Starting new chats for unrelated changes, using v0 Mini for small edits, and keeping projects tidy all lower the bill.

Do v0 credits expire?

Yes. "Unused monthly credits roll over to the next billing cycle and expire after 65 days." Purchased credits stay in your balance for a year but need an active paid plan to use (Vercel). There are no refunds.

Does a v0 plan include Vercel hosting?

No. Apps deploy to Vercel, where the Hobby plan is free for personal, non-commercial projects and Pro costs $20 a month per developer seat (Vercel). v0's FAQ gives the example of $20 for Vercel Pro plus a v0 plan on top.

Does v0 have a student discount?

Students at 15 listed universities get $20 of v0 credits a month, free for a year, by signing up with their school email (Vercel). The list includes Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, Georgia Tech and Waterloo.

How has v0 pricing changed?

  • May 2025: v0 moved from message counts to token-based credits (Vercel).
  • August 2025: v0.dev became v0.app.
  • October 2025: the $100 Business plan launched; $2 daily credits for paid users followed in November.
  • February 2026: v0 relaunched as a full-stack builder (Vercel).
  • Spring 2026: Premium closed to new users.
  • June to August 2026: Max Fast cut to about a third of its price, Team renamed Plus, and Mini and Pro rates lowered.
  • October 2026: new free users get $5 once instead of every month.

v0 vs Lovable, Bolt, Replit and Base44 pricing

v0 publishes a token rate for each model, which makes a model's cost predictable but a single message's cost less so.

Building with a team

On v0, a teammate with edit access can prompt in the same chat, though v0's docs recommend each person work on a copy to avoid "too many cooks." Poly (usepoly.co) is built for the other way: a team builds one app with one AI in a shared browser room, everyone sees each step live, and any member can approve a change before it lands. It runs Claude Code and Codex. Free to start. What is Poly?
