# The best vibe coding tools in 2026, for coders and non-coders

Two kinds of tool now go by the same name. Which to use for a web app, a mobile app or your own codebase, and which ones let a group build together.

**The best vibe coding tools in October 2026 fall into two groups. For building an app without writing code, Lovable is the easiest path to a web app, Replit and Bolt can also ship native mobile apps, v0 suits people who want Next.js code on GitHub, and ChatGPT Sites, in beta, builds and hosts small sites inside ChatGPT. For developers who want an agent working in their own codebase, Claude Code leads the independent benchmarks, with Codex and Cursor close behind. Most have free tiers: Lovable gives 5 credits a day, v0 7 messages a day, and Codex runs on ChatGPT's free plan.**

## Key takeaways

- **No code:** Lovable for web apps, Replit and Bolt for web and mobile, v0 for Next.js on Vercel, and Base44.
- **For developers:** Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, working in your own repository ([the rankings](/best-ai-coding-agents)).
- **Free:** Lovable, v0, Bolt, Replit's Starter plan, Google AI Studio and Codex on ChatGPT Free. Firebase Studio is shutting down.
- **Students:** Lovable takes 50% off Pro for up to a year, Replit Core is $10 a month with a school email, and GitHub Copilot is free for verified students.
- **Security:** in February 2026 a vibe-coded social network, Moltbook, exposed 1.5 million API tokens through a database left open. Review before real users arrive.

- **Google AI Studio's Build mode** creates web apps with a server, and Android apps you can publish to the Play Store for testing, and deploys to Google Cloud Run.

Claude's artifacts can now be small apps too, but every viewer needs a Claude account, so they're for sharing with colleagues rather than hosting a public site.

## Which tools let a group build together?

Most vibe coding tools are built for one person prompting.

- **Lovable** allows unlimited members and drafts any editor can accept.
- **v0** shares team chats but its docs suggest duplicating them to avoid "too many cooks."
- **Bolt** allows several people only in a public project, one prompt at a time.
- **ChatGPT Sites** lets workspace editors publish new versions without a separate owner approval.
- **Google AI Studio** doesn't support real-time co-editing.

Poly (usepoly.co) is built for a group: everyone works with one AI in one live conversation, any member can approve a change before it happens, and the app runs in a live preview the group can publish. Free to start. More in [How do you vibe code together as a team?](/collaborative-vibe-coding)

## How do you vibe code safely?

The most common failure is a database left open to anyone. In February 2026, Moltbook, a social network for AI agents whose founder said he hadn't written a line of code, exposed 1.5 million API tokens and private messages because its Supabase key sat in the browser with no row-level security ([Wiz](https://www.wiz.io/blog/exposed-moltbook-database-reveals-millions-of-api-keys)). Before real users and data arrive, check who can read and write your database, keep secret keys off the client, and have someone review the code. More in [What is vibe coding?](/what-is-vibe-coding)
