# Base44 pricing: every plan, message and integration credits, and what they buy

Base44 charges in two kinds of credit, one for building and one for running your app. What each plan includes, what uses credits fastest, and the costs outside the plan.

Poly is a multiplayer AI coding workspace: a shared room where your team works with one AI agent, together. Free to start: https://usepoly.co/

**Base44 has a free plan and four paid plans: Starter at $20 a month, Builder at $50, Pro at $100 and Elite from $200, each 20% less billed yearly ($16, $40, $80 and $160). Plans include two kinds of credit: message credits, used when the AI builds or changes your app, and integration credits, used when your live app sends email, calls an AI model or generates an image. Builder is the plan most people end up on, because it adds backend functions, GitHub, model choice, Stripe and app-store files. Unused credits expire each month.** A self-serve Business tier adds single sign-on and data residency, and only Enterprise keeps your data out of AI training.

## Key takeaways

- **Free:** 25 message credits a month (5 a day), 100 integration credits, up to 5 apps, all public.

## How much does Base44 cost?

From Base44's pricing page and billing docs ([Base44](https://base44.com/pricing), [docs](https://docs.base44.com/Account-and-billing/Billing-and-plans)):

- **Free, $0:** 25 message credits a month, at most 5 a day, 100 integration credits and up to 5 apps. Free apps must be public; private apps need Starter.
- **Starter, $20 a month or $16 billed yearly:** 100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits, unlimited apps, and your own domain.
- **Builder, $50 or $40:** 250 message credits and 10,000 integration credits. Adds backend functions, two-way GitHub sync (which is how you export code), choosing the AI model, Stripe payments, and the files to submit to the App Store and Google Play.
- **Pro, $100 or $80:** 500 message credits and 20,000 integration credits.
- **Elite, from $200 or $160:** 1,200 message credits and 50,000 integration credits at the base size. A drop-down offers "6 credit sizes", up to 8,200 message credits and 300,000 integration credits; the larger sizes' prices appear only in the billing page.
- **Business:** now self-serve ("Upgrade yourself, no sales call needed"), billed yearly, from 2,400 to 5,400 message credits. Adds single sign-on, data residency, IP allowlisting and per-member credit limits. Its price isn't shown publicly.
- **Enterprise:** by arrangement, with unlimited database storage and no training on your data.

## What is a Base44 message credit?

Message credits pay for the AI building your app. Base44's guide to costs ([Base44](https://docs.base44.com/Account-and-billing/Credits)):

- **A small change:** about 0.5 credits.
- **A large change across the app:** about 3 to 4 credits.
- **A message in Discuss mode,** which plans without editing: about 0.3 credits.
- **Visual edits** you make by hand: free.

Picking a model yourself, on Builder and up, "can use more credits" than leaving it on Auto. On Builder that's 250 credits, so somewhere between 60 and 500 edits a month depending on their size.

## What is a Base44 integration credit?

Integration credits pay for the built-in services your published app uses ([Base44](https://docs.base44.com/Account-and-billing/Credits)):

- **Email:** 1 credit, or 2 from a custom domain.
- **Push notification, file upload, data extraction from a file, image generation:** 1 each.
- **Video generation:** 5 credits per second.
- **Speech:** 1 credit per 50 characters.
- **An AI call in your app:** 1 credit on the automatic model, from 3 on others; an in-app agent message from about 3.
- **Workflows:** about 1 per 10 steps. **Backend functions:** about 1 per 100 calls.

Models differ a lot: GPT-6 Luna costs about the same as the automatic model, Opus 5.5 and GPT-6.1 Sol many times more, and GPT-6 Astra and Fable 5.1 the most. Calling a service with your own API key uses no integration credits. On September 21, 2026, Gemini 3.8 Flash calls doubled in price.

## What happens when Base44 credits run out?

- **Unused credits expire** when they reset each month. The exception: moving from a monthly plan to a higher monthly plan carries unused credits over for one more cycle, up to a month's worth.
- **Top-ups** of 50 message credits or 1,000 integration credits exist, but only for accounts "Base44 has enrolled in top-up credits", on paid plans other than Enterprise.
- **Otherwise** you wait for the reset or move to a bigger plan.
- **Refunds:** "All Base44 services are non-refundable." Cancelling stops the next renewal; accidental upgrades are reviewed case by case.

## What else is limited by plan?

- **Database per app,** for apps created since October 18, 2026: Free 200 MB, Starter 2 GB, Builder 5 GB, Pro 10 GB, Elite 25 GB, Business 50 GB, Enterprise unlimited ([Base44](https://docs.base44.com/Building-your-app/Managing-your-app-data)).
- **Files:** no overall cap; 50 MB a file, 100 MB for video.
- **Users and traffic:** "There's no limit on how many people can sign up, visit, or use your app."
- **Domains:** custom domains from Starter, and yearly plans include a free domain for the first year.
- **Team members:** "You can invite an unlimited number of members without buying separate plans or seats"; everyone draws on the workspace's credits.

## What costs extra outside the plan?

- **Payments:** Base44 Payments, powered by Wix, needs Builder and works in the US, UK and ten European countries. In the US Wix charges 2.9% plus $0.30 a card payment, 3.7% plus $0.30 for American Express, 1.5% more for cross-border cards, and $15 per chargeback ([Wix](https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-payments-service-fees)). Stripe is the alternative, at Stripe's own fees.
- **App stores:** downloading the submission files needs Builder, and you need your own developer accounts: Apple's costs $99 a year and Google Play's $25 once. Selling digital goods through Google Play isn't supported yet.
- **Your own API keys:** calls through them are billed by that provider, not Base44.

## Does Base44 have a student discount?

Yes: students, teachers and school staff with a school email get 50% off Starter or Builder, for up to 12 months on monthly billing or the first year on yearly ([Base44](https://docs.base44.com/Account-and-billing/Student-discount)). There's no published nonprofit discount.

## Does Base44 train on your data?

On every plan except Enterprise. Base44's privacy page says "All other plans, including Business: your data can be used to train AI models" ([Base44](https://docs.base44.com/Community-and-support/Privacy-and-security)). Enterprise is excluded automatically; no lower plan can switch it off. Lovable, by contrast, lets Free and Pro users opt out and excludes Business by default.

## Base44 vs Lovable pricing

Lovable Pro costs $25 a month ($21 yearly) for 100 credits that pay for building, Lovable Cloud and in-app AI together, and they roll over for a month; Business costs $50 ([Lovable pricing](/lovable-pricing)). Base44's Starter is cheaper but lacks GitHub and model choice; its Builder costs the same as Lovable Business. Features, code ownership and mobile are compared in [Base44 vs Lovable](/base44-vs-lovable), and other builders in [the best vibe coding tools](/best-vibe-coding-tools).

## Building it together

A Base44 workspace shares credits, but each person still prompts the builder alone. Poly (usepoly.co) is a shared room where a group builds an app with one AI agent in one conversation: everyone sees each step live, and any member can approve a change before it happens. Free to start. [Collaborative vibe coding](/collaborative-vibe-coding)
